You may ask, is there anything I can forage for during the winter months? The answer is absolutely, if you know what to look for and where. This workshop will be focused on foraging for common and easy to identify wild edibles that anyone with an interest in foraging, botany, backpacking, survival skills and/or nutrition will absolutely love. Anything that's in season this time of year will be on our radar to observe and learn from. We'll go over the identification of these wild edibles and discuss best harvest practices, natural history and ethnobotanical traditions. We'll also discuss how to incorporate wild foods into practical nutritious dishes and cover basic preservation techniques (when/if applicable). This workshop takes place in an urban forested area and walking upwards of 2 miles is likely.
