"Walking like Thoreau" is an idea that I've been dreaming of hosting for close to a decade now. This event is certainly defined as a workshop in every way, as it's the first attempt at bringing it to life. During this program, we will take a walk in the woods to discuss botany, wild edibles, ecology and natural history the way that Henry David Thoreau did. Once we find a place to relax while allowing for stillness and contemplation as a group (perhaps alongside a flowing creek or under a massive handsome oak), I'll read through several passages from Thoreau's books "Walden", "Wild Fruits", "Faith in a Seed" as well as from his adorned essay "Walking". After the readings, an open discussion will be encouraged and engaged in so we can all share what it is that Thoreaus words, thoughts and opinions can teach us today. Items that I'd recommend bringing along are a water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, notebook and pen, a blanket for sitting on (during the reading portion) and an open curious mind. If you have any of these books, perhaps bringing them along in a backpack would be nice.

Your purchase will be eligible for a 50% refund if canceled at least thirty days prior to the workshop event date. If canceled sooner than 30 days from the date of the workshop, there’s no refunds.
