Summer mushroom foraging is something that sparks inspiration and excitement for foragers all around the world. It’s also a great time of the year to become acquainted with some of the more common and easy to identify fungal species. This will be an early summer mushroom foraging workshop for folks who consider themselves as beginners. This class will take place in a beautiful hardwood forest covering roughly 2 miles on foot. This workshop will cover what tools to bring with you out in the field, how to properly and safely identify specific species we find & how to harvest and then preserve or prepare the harvest. We’ll also discuss certain ecological roles that mushrooms play in the forest. Keep in mind, there’s two workshops taking place this day so be sure to choose your preferred time while booking. There will be a waiver to fill out upon purchase of admission that’s required to join us.
