Summer Foraging is an incredible time of the year to harvest various wild edibles. This summer we’ll be hosting a weekend long foraging retreat in eastern Kentucky. This event starts Friday July 23rd, 2021 at 5:00pm and ends on Sunday July 25th, 2021 at 2:00pm. NOTE: Waivers will be sent out upon ticket purchase via email, which are required to be signed and returned within 48 hours from ticket purchasing to attend this retreat. This retreat only has 10 spots available.

This summer foraging retreat will be taking place in Pine Ridge, KY (address disclosed to attendees upon ticket purchase). The cost of your ticket includes lodging, which is group style housing, with semi-private sleeping quarters (the rooms may be shared with up to 3 other people). Camping in the yard is certainly an option too! Dinner on Friday will be provided, Breakfast and Dinner on Saturday will also be provided, lunch will not be since we’ll be Foraging during the day. No meals are provided Sunday morning or afternoon. We will be incorporating foraged food into our provided meals, but we will not be eating an entirely wild diet over the weekend. Here’s our general itinerary:

Friday: Meet and greet, fireside conversation on wild food and the Foraging lifestyle after dinner.

Saturday: Breakfast, carpool to forest & afternoon spent harvesting wild lowbush Blueberries, Huckleberries and Mushrooms (as well as other wild edibles we discover). Communal dinner with wild foods incorporated into each bite (fresh from the days harvest). After dinner, we will again gather around the bonfire to tell stories of our own experiences in nature, as well as soak up the memories from the days worth of wild food gathering together.

Sunday: Early morning foraging hike along a beautiful Hemlock Forest, searching for medicinal polypore mushrooms and other wild edibles.

“The Porch Place” is a large cabin on several acres of land in Red River Gorge. Located just minutes from the area's best trails, it’s the perfect spot for our community to gather in this beautiful region of Kentucky. We’ve listed the features of our lodging amenities for the weekend below.
