Spring Foraging Gathering / May 13th, 2023
May is such a wonderful time of year to forage for wild herbaceous plants and edible fungi. During this 4-hour class we will forage on 70 acres of beautiful privately owned land in the Inner Bluegrass region of Kentucky along the Salt River. The foray will last roughly 3 hours and the last hour will be spent sampling our findings along with freshly made nettle & honey iced tea in a comfortable outdoor area (bring lawn chairs). During this time, I'll cover key identification characteristics in the wild edibles that we harvested and will close with a brief lecture on foraging sustainably, plant ecology and recipes. Space for this class is limited.
Each attending participant will go home with:
- 2 elderberry cuttings ready to plant.
- A limited edition "The Hungry Forager" sticker. These are only issued out to folks who attend our workshops.
- The joyful experience of foraging and tasting delicious wild spring edibles.
Location: Lawrenceburg, KY (specific address details are emailed to booked customers).
When: Saturday May 13th, 2023 from 10:00am - 2:00pm
