Spring is upon us! Beautiful mornings, wild flowers, warmer days, wild greens and new life is all around us in both the wild and our cities at this time of year. This workshop will be focused on foraging for some beautiful fresh common wild edibles at this time of year. Some wild edibles that we'll potentially be interacting with are spring beauties, toothwort, red oak acorns, nettles, pine needles, chickweed, rose hips and much more. We'll go over the identification of these common wild edibles and will discuss how to harvest, ethnobotanical traditions, how to incorporate wild foods into nutritious delicious dishes and how to preserve them. This workshop takes place in a forested area and walking upwards of 2 miles is very common. There will be a waiver to fill out upon purchase of admission tickets that’s required to join us.
