We are wild beings, me mustn’t forget that nor should we deny our natural wildness to our children. This interactive engaging outdoor workshop will celebrate our wildness and our senses. During this workshop, we’ll hike along a 1.8 mile forested trail, observing and interacting with November’s wild food offerings (acorns, pine needles, rose hips, fungi and more). We will discuss the wild foods and their importance to the forest creatures and how people have traditionally used them in their lives as food and as medicine for thousands of years. In addition to wild foods, we will observe trees as they approach the ending of a seasonal growth cycle, rocks making up stream beds and signs of wildlife and possibly their presence.
This workshop is offered for children ages 3-15 years old, with a single accompanying parent required. The $65.00 ticket is for two people (one parent and child), the $80.00 ticket is for three people (two parents and one child or one parent and two children), the $100.00 ticket is for four people (two parents and two children). There will be a waiver to fill out upon purchase of tickets that’s required to join us.
