This will be a mid-summer mushroom foraging workshop for folks who consider themselves as beginners. This class will take place entirely outdoors, so for those who aren’t comfortable in outside summer settings for over an hour (or hiking up to 2 miles), this may not be for you. Summer mushroom foraging is something that sparks inspiration and excitement for foragers all around the world. It’s also a great time of the year to become acquainted with some of the more common and easy to identify fungal species. This workshop will cover what tools to bring with you out in the field, how to properly identify a species, how to harvest and then preserve or prepare the harvest. We’ll also briefly cover certain ecological roles that mushrooms play in the forest. There will be a waiver to fill out upon purchase of admission tickets that’s required to join us. There will be two workshops taking place this day, be sure to select your preferred time while booking.
