
An Introduction to Morel Foraging / Online Workshop
Join George Barnett for an hour-long presentation on the topic of foraging the elusive, beautiful, and delicious morel mushroom. He will take you on an in-depth journey that will provide you with plenty of confidence, preparedness, insight, and perspective that could result in you becoming a successful spring season morel hunter. *This presentation will greatly benefit the beginner-intermediate forager and will still provide useful information to the more advanced forager.
Topics Covered Throughout Presentation:
- Southeastern USA morel species overview (and the seasonality of each)
- Identifying trees that morels are known to associate with
- Ecological, weather, and habitat indicators
- Planning forays (scouting, planning harvests)
- Morel mushroom gathering
- Common ways to prepare morels in a meal (including preservation techniques)
When: The live recording will be held on Friday February 9th, 2024 @ 7:30pm-8:30pm. *For individuals purchasing the presentation recording only, you will receive an email with a link to view the online workshop at your leisure.
Where: Online (via ZOOM). All paid attendees will receive an email with the ZOOM meeting link which will include the password to join the online workshop.
Cancellation policy: If you choose to cancel your spot(s), do so at least 30 days before the scheduled date of the online workshop. Your purchase will be eligible for a 50% refund if canceled at least thirty days prior to the workshop event date. If canceled sooner than 30 days from the date of the online workshop, there’s no refunds.
